For Existing Crescent Students Entering 5th Grade
Unit 7: Social Literacy - Essential Understandings:
Introduction: The seventh and culminating aspect of the learning process involves guiding students to identify ways to use what they have learned by applying it for the good of themselves and others. This involves taking responsibility for your own learning and being of service (safely) within your community.
What Next? Students will receive individualized plans the week of June 22, when coming back to the school building to retrieve all personal belongings that were left behind when we left the building on March 12. These individualized Summer Work Plans have been tailored to meet their personal needs as a learner, based on their experiences in fourth grade, both in class (for Trimester 1 and Trimester 2) and during the Distance Learning phase using Google Classroom. Following this plan will help maintain and build the necessary skills for students to find success next school year, insha’Allah.
Students should take a break from school and begin their Summer Work Plans by the week of June 29. Details are found on the individual documents. However, here are the class codes that students will need to register and log in to their accounts:
- The purpose of public service is to make a positive contribution in the lives of others.
- Caring (for others, the earth, and our knowledge) strengthens our connection to Allah (swt).

In order to maintain and build the necessary skills for 4th grade or 5th grade, we ask that you purchase a comprehensive workbook, such as the Brain Quest workbook series. Please purchase the workbook that corresponds with the grade level that was just completed in the 2019-2020 school year.
